So needless to say, it was a very exciting morning when we left our hotel at 7:30am to walk the 20 minutes to Disneyland. We decided to do Disneyland first as it closed later and Vic and I had spent some time before our trip mapping out our day (yes, we're THOSE type of Disney travellers). We wanted to make sure we got there early so that we could hit all the rides we wanted to go on before lunch and have a nice, leisurely day after that. Our first stop, the Indiana Jones ride.
I can't express enough how impressed I am with Disney. They go all out in making sure that their guest experience is the greatest it can be. They had celebration pins they were giving out for free, so basically if you were celebrating anything (anniversary, birthday, first time, wedding, engagement, happily ever after, or just celebrating being in Disney), they would give you a pin. Then as you walked by, cast members would greet you with happy birthday, or happy anniversary. VIc and I got our anniversary pins and it always put a smile on our face when someone greeted us - definitely made us feel special.
The attention to detail was immaculate (for both Disneyland and California Adventures) - when you went to a ride, from the moment you step into the line, you were immersed in whatever story they were trying to tell, from the Star Wars tour to Indiana Jones to the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters; even their food places seamlessly merged together whatever 'land' you happened to be in.
I was also very impressed with the quality of their food - the food we had was delicious and flavourful. The servings were just right and we were able to get through lineups quickly.
There were so many highlights from the day, but I really loved the fireworks and Fantasmic. We met so many nice people as well who were so excited to be there too. It was great to see so many people happy.
Anyway, we had a great day and our feet were definitely sore by the time we went home close to midnight.
