But I think God continued to work even when we thought we were done! I answered an ad for a small church who were looking for a part-time Children's Ministry lead. I felt called to respond and left it to God and a few days later, received a response asking for an interview!
We went to the church before I went to the interview - we needed to make sure that we 'interviewed' the church as well to see if it was a good fit (and their doctrine was sound!). It's a small community church calling themselves "Bapta-Costal", not too big and a little disorganized at times, but we felt like the people there had Godly hearts. So we said we would give it another try and go ahead with the interview.
After the interview, they called me back and actually said that they had two good candidates for the position, but felt called to create another position specifically for me that was in line with what my skill-set was and wanted to see if I was still interested. They asked if Vic and I could lead worship and so we went another time to see how a 'regular' service went. It was certainly interesting; there was a lot more Pentecostal than Baptist in the second service we went to - they definitely live the "led by the Spirit' attitude, which is a little disconcerting for a long-time Presbyterian!
So tomorrow is the Sunday that Vic and I are leading. I'm a little nervous and apprehensive - not quite sure if this is where God wants us to be as it's out of our comfort zone and we know that once we are part of a church that we tend to get VERY involved in the ministries but we know that we are in good hands. It's also an exciting time and so we lift up this time and experience for God's great glory, looking forward to what He has in store for the work He wants us to do!
