Last Thursday, I had been trolling MLS as usual, feeling a little down, when I came across a listing for a new place on the high end of our price range. I assumed it was already sold and the website just needed to be updated, but I sent it off to Derek and V to check out just in case. To our surprise, it was still on the market with no bids so we quickly asked Derek to put together some paperwork to offer on it. Derek submitted a lower amount, and when they came back to us and countered with an amount STILL lower than asking, we were shocked and elated! We signed right then and there. Keep in mind that at that moment, we liked it so much on paper (well, screen) that we put an offer in BLIND.
Derek and V went to view the house on Saturday (I had to work in the morning) and V came back RAVING about how much he loved the house. It is brand new and has EVERYTHING we wanted on our big checklist. This is an excerpt from messages we had been passing back and forth, this came from V:
let's see when we get a site tour but if we close on this place and remove subjects, think about everything......
1. I wanted a brand new place
2. You wanted a house
3. I didn't think we would afford a house
4. The realtor doesn't get our offer
5. GAS STOVE
Unless the walk through shows us something disturbing, I'm home
God really is so good when you wait and pray for His best.
