Happy 2nd birthday, Braydon! So glad to have shared in celebrating with you and your family yesterday :) As usual, food and cake were crazy amazing. How cute are these dinosaur toppers?? Sorry for the lighting in the pictures; didn't have time to clean them up.
Thank goodness for long weekends. It was so nice to have an extra day to relax (or just not go to work)!
Our worship team went out for a surprise dinner on Saturday to celebrate Margie's birthday. Margie is awesome. :) Without Margie, I would definitely have not heard all the great Bethel songs we've done in the past year. She's incredibly gifted musically and spiritually as well and I have learned so much from her.
All of us trekked downtown for dinner at Shabusen, where they serve sushi and Korean BBQ.. It was a smorgasbord of food and by the end of it, let's just say I was very glad to be wearing yoga pants. ;) After dinner, we strolled around for a bit before heading home. So glad the weather was cooperative and it was nice and warm.
On Sunday, we were fortunate enough to meet up with Valerie and Toby while they were in town. Valerie is Johann's god-sister (her parents are his godparents); she and Toby got married late last year and we were unable to make it to their wedding so we were very glad to be able to meet and catch up. The last time we had seen Valerie was in 2007 and a LOT of things have changed since then! Toby and Valerie leave tomorrow and they had a packed schedule while they were here so I was glad to have been able to see them, even if it was for a short while.
Monday and Tuesday were low-key days for me as Vic had to work. I took Tuesday off to make it an extra long weekend and it was fabulous. It was great to sleep in, spend some time in the sun with Chloe and putter around the house for a bit. I can't wait until the next long weekend; I've taken that time off as well. 40 days to go!
Sorry in the delay in my posting! It's been a busy two weeks and time just slipped away.
Hm... what's happened in the last two weeks? Johann had his birthday and we went to go see Captain America in theatres. Johann and Michelle celebrated their 5 year anniversary as well :) We were able to meet Chloe, our friends Eric and Charlene's baby girl - she is absolutely gorgeous. Vic's school is going; it's more work than he was used to at Argosy but it's good to get back into the swing of things. He also got a job (hurrah!) and this was the end of his first week. He works for a company called Staff Management (SMX) at their Amazon warehouse in Delta. Praise God that he found something he liked a little closer to home so soon. He works 4 day weeks at 10 hours each, so not bad :) The downside is that he works Sundays to Wednesdays so he's going to have to give up church on Sundays, which made him really upset as we do a lot with our church. We're hoping that God will intervene and make it so that he can have the Wednesday to Saturday shift soon.
This upcoming weekend is a long weekend and I'm making it extra long by taking next Tuesday off... I'm pretty excited about it. It's going to be an awesome weekend. One of our family friends (Johann's godsister) from the Philippines is stopping by next week as well with her new husband so it will be nice to catch up and finally meet Toby in person.
if you're looking for new pictures to the photo challenge, they should be up sometime this weekend. My camera is all caught up, just haven't posted to the blog yet so stay tuned!

Loved by the Savior. Blessed with a wonderful husband, a beautiful daughter and an adorable pup.
I love photography, singing, reading, trying new food, organizing, all things Disney and always looking forward to my next adventure. You can usually find me with a book in my hand or talking about Pentatonix. An unfortunate Amazon.com addict :)
Oh yeah, occasionally, Vic will post too. :)
