I picked him up from his swimming lesson (he asked if I would like to come see him at his lesson, so cute) and we headed to see Uncle Vic really quickly at work to get a hug, a tour and a treat or two before we headed to the Aquarium!
I hadn't been to the Aquarium since I was working at Variety and even then, I didn't really get to look around then so it was fun to be able to go with Ewan and see things from his eyes. Plus, I didn't have to pay for him because kids under 4 are free :)
I am always so impressed by how well behaved he is - after the Aquarium, he insisted we go back to my house so he could play with Chloe. We didn't quite make it back to Surrey though, he told me he had to make a potty pit-stop so we stopped at Brentwood Mall where he also got to run around the little indoor play area. It was pretty crowded inside as parents seemed to have the same idea - it had started to rain outside so it was a good, dry spot to run off some energy and Ewan is pretty small, so he got pushed around a lot so we decided to leave.
We stopped by the Kins Market before we left more the mall and he decided to help me with my grocery picks. He would examine the fruit before determining that it wasn't good enough and putting it back on the shelf. What a kid.
When I dropped him off at his house, he quickly ran to the studio so he could play his drums. Yes, he's had his own set of drums (kid-sized) since he was 2... and he's pretty amazing too! When he's not goofing around (as 3 year olds do with loud instruments :)) and he gets focused, he is just incredible. No lessons, just time with dad (who is also an amazing musician). I'm amazed at how much talent this kid has. Took a little video when I was supposed to be listening to him. :) This kid loves his cymbals and is incredibly finicky (as I am told all drummers are) about where his drums are placed... and look at how much fun he has on it! As I have been told, "Auntie Jas, maybe I could have a sleepover at your house. But you don't have a drum set. Maybe you should get a drum set first." I guess I'm going to have to see where I can get pint-sized drum sets for our sleepover :)
